Reflections on 1.2
In this edition of my blog I will
try to focus on answering the following questions and share with you some of my
progress so far concerning this level.
- Do you feel you are a smarter worker/learner?
- What makes you say that?
- What next steps do you need to take to achieve your professional learning goal?
I can now gladly say that I am a Smart Worker because
(i)
I have got to recognize
that learning is a continuous process; even at work place, learning still takes
place;
(ii)
Even my job especially
this season of end of year examinations with busy and tight schedules has not
stopped me from learning CCTI courses;
(iii)
At first, I used
to care less about when the performance indicators of what I do would come, but
now, I’ve got to know the outcome of the indicators as soon as the problems are
identified. I give no time lag.
(iv)
I now have a
group with whom I would love to share what I know with them, isn’t being smart,
especially when there is trustworthiness?
(v)
Above all, I now
enjoy technology like never before! This even makes me smarter.
(vi)
I am always ready
to improve on the weakness I have identified.
However,
the professional learning goals will be according to the following set steps
(i)
define a clear
set of goals based on the rigorous analysis of the information available;
(ii)
provide work-embedded
learning to share new knowledge and skills more specifically through technology
related programs;
(iii)
implement
coherent, sustained, and evidenced-based learning strategies that easily improves
instructional effectiveness and learner achievement;
(iv)
regularly assess
the effectiveness of the professional development in achieving identified
learning goals;
(v)
make improvements
on defects identified on spot.
Now to be specific in this lesson, I found it so
interesting to visit some websites and interact with guys on their blogs elsewhere
outside Africa performing similar learning styles yet in different approach. It
is so beautiful for me to be part of this amazing adventure.
